Francisco Mwepu Shines in Spanish Third Tier

Zambian forward Francisco Mwepu made headlines in the world of football once again, this time for his impressive performance in the Spanish third tier.

On loan from Spanish La Liga side Cádiz CF, Mwepu demonstrated his talent by scoring a brace for Atletico Sanluqueno in their recent 2-2 draw with Ad Mérida during the second round of the Primera Federación.

In a thrilling encounter, Mwepu took center stage in the first 45 minutes, displaying his scoring prowess. He opened the scoring for Sanluqueno in the 25th minute and swiftly doubled their lead just two minutes later, setting the stage for an exciting match.

However, despite Sanluqueno’s 2-0 lead, they couldn’t hold onto it. Daniel Sandoval Fernandez narrowed the gap for Mérida, converting a penalty in the 31st minute. The tension continued to build, and in a dramatic turn of events, Jose Borrela leveled the match at the last moment, earning Mérida a well-fought point.

Mwepu‘s loan spell at Sanluqueño is an exciting opportunity for him to gain valuable experience and continue to develop his skills. The 23-year-old forward is no stranger to Spanish football, having previously played with Cadiz CF’s youth team, Mirandilla. His performances there, including a memorable goal against Atlético Sanluqueño CF at the Ciudad Deportiva, paved the way for his loan stint.

Mwepu’s football journey continues to impress, and his La Liga debut last season was a testament to his talent and potential. With a long-term contract at Cádiz CF, he is set to stay in Andalusia until 2026, offering ample time for further growth and achievements.

As Mwepu’s career progresses, football enthusiasts can anticipate more remarkable performances and contributions from this talented Zambian forward on both domestic and international stages.
