FAZ Announces Restructuring of U20 Technical Bench Ahead of FIFA World Cup Qualifiers

The Football Association of Zambia has announced a reconstituted technical bench appointing Zanaco Ladies FC divers’ trainer Sarah Chungu as goalkeeper coach.

FAZ General Secretary Reuben Kamanga says head coach Charles Haalubono retains his position while Carol Kanyemba has been elevated from the under-17 where he served as assistant to the under-20 bench in the same capacity.

The third assistant position will be occupied by Naomi Phiri while the team manager is Hazel Ndubakwenda.

Kamanga says FAZ will announce some consolidated changes to other benches soon.
He said the under-20 has an important assignment against the Democratic Republic of Congo on October 7 at home in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

“The U20 girls have an important line up of matches ahead with the Colombia 2024 FIFA World Cup qualifiers starting next month. In line with our policy of regeneration our teams and technical benches we have tinkered with the u20 bench to align it with our long-term goals,” says Kamanga.

“We will do the same for other benches in due course. This is nothing new and we can only wish the appointed personnel all the best. They are assured of maximum support from FAZ.”
