Chisi Mbewe Admits Concern as Red Arrows Draw Against Nkwazi
head coach Chisi Mbewe has acknowledged growing concern within his camp following a frustrating 0-0 draw against Nkwazi Football Club in MTN Super League Week 26.
The match, played at Nkoloma Stadium, ended in a stalemate, with Red Arrows failing to capitalise on home advantage in a tightly contested encounter.
Mbewe did not shy away from expressing his disappointment, admitting that the result fell short of expectations.
“A draw is not a very good result for us. We knew it was not going to be easy playing against Nkwazi here it was always going to be difficult. But it’s not a good result for us,” he said.
The result marks back-to-back draws for the Airmen, a run of form that Mbewe openly described as troubling, particularly at this critical stage of the season.
“Back-to-back draws is a source of worry, but again we shouldn’t look down. We just have to continue working hard, correct the lapses we made in today’s game and continue fighting.”
Red Arrows, known for their fluid attacking style, appeared below their usual standards—something Mbewe attributed to squad disruptions caused by injuries and suspensions.
“The injuries and suspensions have disturbed our game plan a bit, and that is why we couldn’t play the way we normally play our game.”
Despite the setback, the coach maintained a measured outlook, emphasising the need for resilience and improvement as the MTN Super League campaign edges closer to its conclusion.
For Red Arrows, dropped points at home could prove costly in the race for honours, while for Nkwazi, the result represents another step in their battle for survival.
As it stands, the stalemate at Nkoloma underscores the growing pressure on the league’s top sides to maintain consistency, with little margin for error in the closing stages of the season.
