BolaBet Zambia Launches ‘Bola Yamu Hood’ Community Football Tournament
BolaBet Zambia has announced the launch of an exciting new community football tournament named ‘Bola Yamu Hood.’ This initiative will see seven communities competing for a chance to reach the final, offering a platform for local talent to shine. The tournament was unveiled during a press conference at the Taj Pamodzi Hotel in Lusaka.
BolaBet Zambia has invested K2.5 million into this project, emphasizing their commitment to community development and grassroots football. CEO Justin Palmer highlighted the company’s dedication to giving back to the communities that have supported them.
“We have been well received by the communities, so it is our way of giving back. This is also an opportunity for some players who have been overlooked in the past to get a platform to showcase their talent,” Palmer explained to the Bola Yapa Zed crew.
He further added, “Let’s work together to build from the grassroots, and maybe this will be something that is an opportunity for young footballers and those that are coming back to show what they have got.”
The ‘Bola Yamu Hood’ tournament will feature eight teams from seven communities, each vying for the top prize of K15,000. The grand finale will take place at Woodlands Stadium, promising an exciting culmination to the competition.

- Third Place: K5,000
- Fourth Place: K2,500

Palmer also emphasized the importance of community involvement in the success of the tournament. “If the community engages, if your local community comes out to support, hopefully we can make it happen each and every year. Maybe we can include more communities and, in one or two years, bring in the women and let them showcase what they have,” he stated.
