Football history comes alive at the FIFA Museum in Zurich, with a new exhibit dedicated to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and featuring a prominent display of Copper Queens captain Barbra Banda’s boots.

Marking the 1,000th goal in World Cup history, Banda’s penalty-kick boots worn during Zambia’s 3-1 victory over Costa Rica take center stage, alongside the actual ball used for the monumental score. This inclusion in the prestigious museum, boasting one of the most comprehensive football collections, elevates Banda’s achievement to international recognition.

“It’s a celebration of women’s football,” stated Sarai Bareman, FIFA Chief Women’s Football Officer, regarding the new exhibit. “Fans can experience some of the tournament’s standout objects, ensuring the 2023 World Cup is remembered as a game-changer.”
