He’s scored every single goal for Kabwe Warriors this season. On Sunday, he faces the league leaders. Is he nervous? Not even close. Bola Yapa Zed sat down with Francis Banda ahead of the Warriors’ showdown with Zanaco — and his energy is pure belief.
Some players talk with swagger. Others speak with silence. Francis Banda speaks with calm conviction. No theatrics. No headlines. Just discipline, faith and a mindset built for big moments.
Ahead of Kabwe Warriors’ highly anticipated clash against table-topping Zanaco, we caught up with the man carrying Kabwe’s attacking fire. Here’s how the conversation went…
The first thing you notice about Francis Banda is not the confidence — it’s the peace. He talks like a man who’s already seen the future.
“Every game is going to be difficult, but we’ve prepared adequately,” he says casually. “We’re ready to take on any team. In God’s name, we’ll carry the day.”
No tension. No hesitation. Just faith and readiness.
Morale in the Camp? “Unbreakable.”
While many expect Warriors to tremble against the current table-toppers Zanaco, Banda insists the mood is the complete opposite.
“The morale is high and positive. We believe in one another. When you work together, it becomes difficult to break you. There’s a lot of positive energy in camp.”
This isn’t a team walking into battle with fear — it’s a unit walking with purpose.
Pressure as the Only Goal Scorer? He Laughs.
Banda has scored all of Kabwe Warriors’ goals this season, but he refuses to make it about himself.
“No pressure. Anyone in our team can score. My focus is just to improve every day and stay calm. Every challenge is an opportunity to grow.”
Most strikers chase goals with desperation. Banda visualizes them.
“I always play the game in my mind before I step on the pitch. I imagine the challenges and how I’ll overcome them. I win in my mind first — then I deliver it on the field.”
Coach’s Message? Discipline. Character. Hard Work.
When asked if the team has adjusted tactics for Zanaco, Banda shrugs.
“We didn’t change much because we believe we’re on the right track. Coach has emphasized character and hard work.”
That discipline is what makes Warriors dangerous. They don’t panic — they progress.
Message to the Fans
Before ending the conversation, Francis turned to the people who fuel the fire.
“To the Kabwe Warriors family — your support motivates us. Please come in numbers and keep believing. We feel you, and we fight for you.”
And when we asked — “Should we expect another Francis Banda goal?”
He grinned.
“Always.”
This is not just a player preparing for a football match. This is a leader preparing for war — mentally, spiritually, and physically.
Whether Warriors win or lose this Sunday, one thing is clear: they are not stepping onto that pitch as underdogs — they’re stepping in as believers.
And when belief meets discipline?
Anything can happen.
