Benin has officially confirmed their 2025 FIFA Women’s U17 World Cup final round qualifier against Zambia after securing an emphatic 5-0 aggregate victory over DR Congo on Sunday in Kinshasa. The highly anticipated clash will take place in April, with Zambia hosting the first leg.
Benin Dominates DR Congo to Advance
Benin sealed their place in the final round with a convincing 3-0 victory away to DR Congo, completing a dominant performance over two legs.
- De-gratis Ebi opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, giving Benin a 1-0 lead at halftime.
- Romaine Gandonou doubled the advantage in the 63rd minute, marking her second goal against DR Congo after also scoring in the first leg (2-0 win in Cotonou).
- Labylle Etchou sealed the victory with another goal in the 63rd minute, ensuring Benin’s comfortable progression.
With this result, Benin advances to face Zambia for the first time in history, as both nations seek to secure their maiden U17 Women’s World Cup appearance.
