Zambia and Mozambique Play Out Goalless Draw in COSAFA Women’s Championship
In a closely contested match in the COSAFA Women’s Championship, Zambia and Mozambique battled to a goalless draw. The encounter saw Mozambique enjoying the lion’s share of possession, particularly in the first half, although clear-cut scoring opportunities were scarce.
The second half saw the Copper Queens’ coach, Florence Nkatya, making early substitutions, bringing Natasha Nanyangwe on for Salome Phiri and introducing Sarah Jere in place of Maylan Mulenga. These changes were aimed at breaking the deadlock and securing an opening goal for Zambia. However, despite their efforts, they struggled to penetrate Mozambique’s defense.
