Aguila Stars Football Club has received a significant boost as Vedanta Resources, a prominent mining firm, has once again stepped up to support the team’s development. In a remarkable show of commitment to sports in Zambia, Vedanta Resources has handed over 180,000 Kwacha to Aguila Stars, ensuring the team’s financial stability for the remainder of the 2022/2023 FAZ Division One National League season. This generous contribution follows a kit sponsorship deal worth 268,000 Kwacha and a previous donation of 10,000 United States Dollars made by Vedanta in June of the previous year.
Masuzyo Ndlovu, the Resources Director Corporate Affairs of Vedanta Limited, reaffirmed the company’s dedication to sports development during a press briefing in Lusaka. Ndlovu emphasized that sports development is a top priority in Vedanta’s corporate social responsibility efforts, and their continued support for Aguila Stars exemplifies this commitment. The financial backing from Vedanta Resources will undoubtedly motivate Aguila Stars Football Club to strive for success in the National League and set their sights on qualifying for the top-flight football division in the upcoming season.
Vedanta Resources’ unwavering support for Aguila Stars Football Club underscores their profound impact on sports and community engagement in Zambia. Through their substantial financial contributions and sponsorship deals, Vedanta is not only bolstering the club’s aspirations but also making a substantial positive impact on the broader sports landscape of the country. This partnership between Vedanta Resources and Aguila Stars exemplifies the vital role that corporate entities can play in nurturing talent, fostering participation, and driving overall sports development in Zambia
