Red Arrows have been crowned the champions of the 2024 Carling Black Label ‘Samuel Zoom Ndhlovu’ Charity Shield after a commanding 4-1 win against Kabwe Warriors.
The match, which took place in front of an enthusiastic crowd, saw Red Arrows put on a clinical performance, particularly in the second half. The scoring was opened by Ricky Banda, who converted a penalty in the 51st minute to give Arrows the lead. Banda struck again in the 64th minute, doubling the advantage with a well-taken goal.
Angel Lubamba added to the tally in the 74th minute, putting the game further out of reach for Kabwe Warriors. Michie Malonga then sealed the victory with a goal in the 81st minute, making it 4-0. Kabwe Warriors managed to pull one back in the 85th minute through Mwamba Mutombo, but it was too little, too late.
With this victory, Red Arrows have secured the prestigious Charity Shield, demonstrating their strength and readiness for the upcoming season. The team’s performance in this match will undoubtedly boost their confidence as they prepare to compete in the Super League.
This win also serves as a tribute to the late Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu, one of Zambia’s football legends, with the Red Arrows honoring his memory by lifting the shield named in his honor.
