Musonda Scores, Chama Assists as Yanga Edge Closer to Simba in Title Race
Young Africans (Yanga SC) claimed a commanding 2-0 victory over Namungo FC in the Tanzanian NBC Premier League, thanks to the contributions of Zambian duo Kennedy Musonda and Clatous Chota Chama. The reigning champions showcased their class with a well-rounded performance as they continue their pursuit of the league summit.
Kennedy Musonda opened the scoring in the 56th minute with a brilliant left-footed strike. His goal highlighted his clinical finishing ability, underlining why he remains a key figure in Yanga’s attacking line. Musonda’s form has been pivotal for Yanga this season, and his strike against Namungo was yet another reminder of his importance to the team.
Clatous Chama, Musonda’s compatriot, played a crucial role in securing the win. The creative midfielder, known for his vision and technical ability, assisted Pacome Zouzoua’s goal that sealed the result. Chama’s pinpoint delivery was instrumental in breaking down Namungo’s defense, emphasizing his reputation as one of the league’s top playmakers.
With this victory, Yanga SC remain hot on the heels of their fierce rivals Simba SC. Simba currently lead the table with 28 points, but Yanga is just one point behind, intensifying the title race as the season progresses. The reigning champions are determined to reclaim their top spot and maintain their dominance in Tanzanian football.
As the NBC Premier League heats up, the performances of players like Musonda and Chama will be crucial for Yanga’s campaign. Their synergy and individual brilliance could be the deciding factors in the club’s quest for yet another league title.
