Morocco’s U-23 football team snatched the 2023 Africa cup of Nations title from egypt in a final thrilling match on Saturday the 8th of july 2023.
Egypt had taken an early lead in the first 10 minutes of the game when the untouchable Mahmoud Saber scored but morrocco equalised in the 37th minute when Bilal El Khannouss’s shot went through Egypts net
Right into the second half of the match both teams tried to to take chances. Egypt played very well and tried its luck into the Morocco’s net but goal keeper Hamza Alaa didn’t let it happen which saw the second half ending with no goals
It was until in the extra time when Morocco’s midfielder Oussama Targhalline scorred the winning goal for Morocco setting the record and claiming the U-23 African cup of Nations tittle.
This victory marks Morocco’s first-ever U-23 Africa Cup of Nations title, with Gabon winning in 2011, Nigeria in 2015 and Egypt in 2019
This final match was held at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Morocco’s capital.
