Newly promoted side Mines United have secured the services of experienced midfielder Paul Simpemba on loan from Green Buffaloes as they gear up for their maiden campaign in the MTN Super League.
Bola Yapa Zed understands that the deal is already done, with Simpemba currently training with the team as they step up preparations for the upcoming 2025/26 season, scheduled to kick off next month.
The 25-year-old midfielder, who can also be deployed as a winger, brings top-flight experience and tactical versatility to the Central Province-based outfit. He previously featured in the MTN Super League with Kabwe Warriors before making the switch to Green Buffaloes.
Sources close to the deal reveal that Mines United moved quickly to secure the former Warriors man as part of their strategic plan to reinforce the squad with players who can bring both stability and experience to their midfield.
Club insiders describe Simpemba as a key acquisition capable of adding leadership on and off the pitch as the Sharp Miners aim to establish themselves in Zambia’s top-flight league.
Mines United, who secured promotion to the Super League earlier this year, have been one of the most active sides in the transfer window, focusing on bringing in experienced players to complement their youthful core.
The loan move is expected to be officially announced in the coming days, with Simpemba likely to feature prominently in pre-season fixtures.
