
Lumwana Radiants Announce Departure of Head Coach Lameck Banda
Lumwana Radiants Football Club, competing in the FAZ National League, has officially parted ways with Head Coach Lameck Banda and first assistant coach Bupe Chewe. The separation is reported to be a mutual agreement between the coaching staff and the club.
According to insider information, both Coach Lameck Banda and Bupe Chewe bid farewell to the players during an afternoon training session at Lumwana Ground. The decision to part ways has attracted attention from several MTN Super League clubs, with defending champions Power Dynamos, Kansanshi Dynamos, Forest Rangers, Green Eagles, and Prison Leopards all expressing interest in securing Coach Lameck Banda’s services.

Lameck Banda took charge of Lumwana Radiants on July 1, 2023, and leaves the team in a respectable third position on the National League table with 17 points, just three points behind log leaders Nchanga Rangers (20 points).
During his four-month tenure in Kalumbila, Coach Lameck Banda oversaw 10 matches, securing four victories, suffering one defeat, and settling for five draws. Notably, Banda had an impactful 2022-23 season with FC MUZA, guiding the club to its first-ever ABSA Cup final appearance. His leadership also propelled FC MUZA to a historic second-place finish in the Super League, earning them automatic qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup.
As Lumwana Radiants undergoes a coaching transition, the club expresses gratitude to Coach Lameck Banda for his contributions and wishes him continued success in his future endeavors.
