F.C MUZA Queens Crowned Champions
F.C MUZA Queens have emerged as the champions of the FAZ Division One Southern Province Women’s League after a remarkable 2023/2024 season. The team, led by coach Fontina Sakala, was crowned during the season finale at Nakambala Stadium in Mazabuka on Sunday afternoon.
The Elegant Dynamites Queens concluded the season with an impressive record, becoming the first team in the province’s FAZ women’s football league to win the championship without a single loss. Their season stats are outstanding, with 24 wins, 8 draws, and an incredible 103 goals scored while only conceding 9.
In the final match of the season, MUZA Queens played to a 1-1 draw against Musports Academy. The visitors showed their sportsmanship by giving the champions a guard of honor as they received their gold medals.
Southern Province FAZ Chairperson, Francis Hamfwiti, was present at the ceremony and encouraged MUZA Queens to aim for promotion to the National Division One League. He praised their exceptional performance and dedication throughout the season.
F.C MUZA President, Keith Mweemba, also expressed his admiration for the team, paying tribute to their hard work and splendid performance. He highlighted their potential and urged them to continue their winning streak in the upcoming national play-offs.
MUZA Queens will now represent Southern Province in the National Division One women’s league play-offs, set to take place next week in Lusaka. Their undefeated record and formidable play style make them strong contenders for promotion.
