Konkola Blades Queens FC have officially confirmed the appointment of Enala Phiri as their new Head Coach. The announcement, made on June 13, 2025, in Chililabombwe, marks a new era for the ‘Sharp Razor’ Queens as they prepare for their maiden season in the Eden University Women’s Super Division.
CAF-A Licensed Phiri Brings Wealth of Experience
Coach Phiri, one of the most experienced female coaches in Zambian football, joins the Blades with an impressive track record. Currently serving as the first assistant coach for the Zambia Senior Women’s National Team, she has previously coached the U17 and U23 national sides, as well as club stints with Indeni Roses, Lusaka Dynamos Ladies, and NAPSA Stars Women.
“It is such a great and true honour to join this club as Head Coach,” Phiri said. “I’ve watched the girls before and saw great potential in them. They’re eager to learn, and I look forward to aligning them with my strategic goals.”
Long-Term Vision: Three-Year Deal for Stability
Konkola Blades Queens FC President Geoffrey Mumba confirmed that Coach Phiri has signed a three-year deal running from the 2025/2026 season through to 2027/2028. The agreement is seen as part of the club’s long-term strategy to consolidate its place in the top-flight after earning promotion from the National League.
Leadership Backing and Technical Support
Konkola Blades FC President Davy Mubita welcomed Phiri to the club and emphasized the leadership’s confidence in her.
“Her vision aligns with our long-term goals. We are confident she is the right leader to guide our team to greater heights,” Mubita said.
Coach Phiri will be assisted by Chipulu Chileya, a former Physical Trainer at the club, ensuring continuity and familiarity within the technical setup.
Focus on Discipline, Unity, and Results
Phiri has vowed to work hard, connect with the players, and build a team that will fight for every point. “I promise to make the fans proud and build a disciplined, motivated team,” she said.
As the Eden University Women’s Super Division gears up for the 2025/26 kickoff, Konkola Blades Queens are focused on excellence and strengthening their identity as a club united by ambition and passionate fan support.
Conclusion
With Coach Enala Phiri at the helm, Konkola Blades Queens FC enter their debut Super Division campaign with renewed confidence and experienced leadership. Backed by a united technical bench and leadership committed to long-term growth, the club is well-positioned to make a strong impression in Zambia’s elite women’s football league.
