
Diana Chikotesha to Officiate at 2024 Olympic Football Tournaments
Zambian referee Diana Chikotesha has achieved another milestone in her illustrious career as she has been appointed to officiate at the 2024 Olympic football tournaments in Paris, France. This appointment marks a significant achievement for Chikotesha, showcasing her talent and expertise on the international stage.
Chikotesha’s inclusion in the 89-member match officials list, comprising 21 referees, 42 assistant referees, 20 video match officials, and six support referees, highlights her prominence in the world of football officiating. Representing Zambia, she joins officials from 45 countries selected by the FIFA Referees Committee for the prestigious Olympic tournaments.
Throughout her career, Chikotesha has amassed a wealth of experience, officiating at various high-profile events, including the Africa Cup of Nations tournaments, junior World Cup, FIFA Women’s World Cup, AFCON final, as well as matches in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup, among others. Her consistent performances and dedication have earned her recognition as one of the top referees in African football.

The women’s Olympic football tournament is scheduled to take place from 25 July to 10 August 2024, while the men’s competition will run from 24 July to 9 August 2024. Both finals will be held at the Parc des Princes, the iconic stadium and home of Ligue 1 French champions Paris Saint-Germain FC.
