At the top, FC MUZA are unbeaten and looking to extend their lead, while at the bottom, Nkana, Kansanshi Dynamos, and Mines United are already gasping for air in the relegation zone. From survival scraps to heavyweight clashes, here’s the full breakdown of the weekend fixtures.
Kansanshi Dynamos 🆚 Green Eagles (15:00 – Independence Stadium, Solwezi)
Kansanshi have endured a torrid start with two draws, two defeats, and just one goal scored. Their fans are already questioning coach Zeddy Saileti’s future, with whispers about his job spreading like gossip at a wedding. If they can’t score at home, pressure will mount fast.
Green Eagles, however, are inconsistent—strong away but fragile at home. They sit 10th with four points and will view Solwezi as a chance to steal vital points. Expect a cagey battle where Kansanshi’s desperation could either fuel a turnaround or another collapse.
NAPSA Stars 🆚 Mines United (15:00 – Nkoloma Stadium)
NAPSA, sitting 16th with two points, are winless but hard to beat. Their defense looks organized, but goals remain scarce. Facing Mines United, who shocked Power Dynamos with a 1-1 draw, this feels like a real relegation six-pointer.
The “Council of Elders” from Mines United will hope to build on that morale-boosting result, but Nkoloma is no retirement home—it’s a battlefield. NAPSA know this is their chance to cash in their first three points.
Nkwazi 🆚 Konkola Blades (15:00 – Edwin Imboela Stadium)
Nkwazi have managed three goals this season, more than Kabwe Warriors, but are still searching for a first victory. With three draws and one defeat, they sit 12th with three points. At home, backed by their noisy but loyal fans, they’ll sense an opportunity.
Blades, who are 8th with five points, enjoyed a free Week One victory but were humbled by MUZA. This match has survival written all over it, but Nkwazi’s hunger might finally be rewarded.
Prediction: Nkwazi 1–0 Blades.
Kabwe Warriors 🆚 Green Buffaloes (15:00 – Godfrey Ucar Chitalu Stadium)
Kabwe Warriors have scored just one goal in four games, leaving them 8th with six points. That single goal, ironically, came in their win over Nkana. While the fans celebrated, their lack of firepower remains a concern.
Buffaloes, sitting 2nd with nine points, benefited from FAZ’s ruling against Nkana and remain in the title conversation. A victory in Kabwe could even send them top, depending on MUZA’s result. This is a clash of Warriors’ grit versus Buffaloes’ disciplined army—expect Buffaloes to edge it.
FC MUZA 🆚 Mufulira Wanderers (15:00 – Nakambala Stadium)
MUZA are flying high: top of the table with 10 points, unbeaten, and yet to concede a goal. Kalusa and company have made defending look impossible for opponents.
Wanderers, however, are struggling, sitting 11th with four points. They travel with coach Lameck Banda, who returns to Nakambala—this time as an opponent. His reception will be dramatic, but MUZA’s class should prevail.
Prediction: MUZA 2–0 Wanderers.
FC Leopards 🆚 Mutondo Stars (15:00 – President’s Stadium, Kabwe)
Leopards finally scored in Week 4, though they remain 13th with three points. Mutondo, in 14th with three points, got their first win against Kansanshi. This is a true relegation battle where both sides fight like hungry men over nshima.
At home, Leopards will fancy their chances to roar louder, but Mutondo’s counterattacking threat keeps the game open.
Nkana 🆚 Zanaco (15:00 – Pa Chilata Stadium, Kitwe)
Nkana’s season is already in chaos. They sit 17th with two points, hit by FAZ’s ruling after fielding ineligible player Nduna Zulu. The administrative error overturned their only win into a 3-0 loss.
Zanaco, meanwhile, are resurging under Numba Mumamba and occupy 4th place with eight points. With discipline and organization, they look ready to punish Nkana’s disarray. At Pa Chilata, it’s the drums of Nkana’s faithful versus Zanaco’s calm, calculated approach.
Conclusion
Week 5 is set up for fireworks: MUZA defending their unbeaten streak, Buffaloes chasing the summit, and Nkana already battling survival. For Kansanshi, NAPSA, and Mines, the fight at the bottom intensifies. By the end of this round, the table could look very different—whether it’s a title charge or a relegation struggle.
